Izabel
Just finished the first volume of Saga by Brian K. Vaughan with really great art by Fiona Staples. Izabel was so darn cute. My favourite by far.

Dr. Mrs The Monarch
Fanart again, I know. It's hard to find creative energy when you're working and I just needed the practice. Hopefully I can come up with some original stuff soon :)

Kiwi
Done for the Irish Sketch Society. This week's theme is Birds. I wasn't able to find time to do something for last week's Die Hard theme so I was happy to sit down and work on this. Two little Kiwis, which are among my favourite species of birds. They're very adorable!

Accidental Airbending
EDIT: Here are the lines. Fixed some mistakes, mainly 33% more armband and 40% less cleavage.
My god I had SO much fun fine lining this. One the one hand I feel terrible that I've wasted a whole evening on this but on the other I feel like I had to get it out of my system. So yeah, conflicting piece of work :/
Since I seem incapable of doing course work today I did this instead, I hope I'll get to colour it. Korra, caught off-guard by her own airbending.

2 Fanarts
It's probably a bad habit but I often like to indulge myself in drawing fanart. I find it's a good way to practice my skills at times when I'm not feeling particularly inspired. And I'm trying to practice whenever I can.
This first piece I did shortly after seeing The Dark Knight Rises.
The second is of Princess Yue from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She's one of my favourite character designs in the entire series.

Stages Post - Korra
I decided that for this drawing I would post each milestone stage, that is to say the original pencil sketch, the cleaned-up lines in Photoshop and finally the flat colours.
Here's the original sketch, sans her right foot :/
Next up is the lines:
(I should have probably stopped here :p)
And lastly here's the colours:
No fanart for a while now, that's my new rule :p

Odds and Ends.
I'm experimenting with a new style, heavily influenced by Adventure Time but hopefully I might be able to add something of myself to it eventually. Again, conducting style research for next year's solo-film. This style is my favourite so far.
A few little pics. I'm off to colour these now and will make another post when they're done. The girl in the water dress and the greaser smoking the cigarette are my favourites. His hair was inspired by Sweet JP from Redline but it's nowhere near as epic. Check that film out if you can. It's bonkers but wonderfully animated.

As always, thank you and goodnight :)

Throwing things on and seeing what sticks.
Further colour things with CS5 and my shiny tablet friend. I do like how the hair turned out, I couldn't get the same quality with the rest of the piece but sure, keep calm and carry on :) The background was just a quick fix so that I wouldn't be stuck with a plain base. My main drawing isn't strong enough to warrant one.
Thanks folks!

Some practise in Photoshop.
So I got the wonderful Bamboo Graphics Tablet over Christmas. Suddenly practising my lines in CS4 is 100x more enjoyable. So I took an old drawing and decided to clean up the lines as a bit of an exercise.
The character is Steph from Freakazoid! My love for that show knows no bounds, only partially because one of the characters shares my name :p
I'm working on some colours for this one, any progress I make will go here.
Cheers folks x

'Demon Dilemma' concept work
I'm working with two fabulous ladies on our student film this year! Erin Overmann is our concept director and Rachel Wilson is our animation director. I highly recommend you give their blogs a look-see :)
Here are some of my contributions.
Our main character is a bratty little girl who comes face to face with her inner demon.
Our other main character is her conscience or inner demon. This is an early sketch I did of his largest physical form.
I made him look very menacing here, he's actually just a goofy brat like she is :)
Finally, here are a few designs of our incidental characters: a shopkeeper and a waitress.
I'll post any other significant designs up here as I get to them. Hopefully there'll be quite a few!
As always thanks for popping by :)
